    Breaking the Silence

Together with Unicef Essity is educating girls and boys in Mexico.

Every day, millions of women, men and children refrain from going to work or school or from taking part in social events because of hygiene and health-related concerns. Through our insight-driven campaigns, we spark global dialogue and raise awareness around unspoken issues on menstruation, incontinence, phlebology and personal and public hygiene.

    Hygiene and Health Report

Accelerating action on hygiene and health for all

Societal exclusion and isolation due to hygiene and health barriers is a global problem. The needs of vulnerable groups in decision making related to hygiene and health, are often overlooked. Our Hygiene and Health Report strives to inspire and invite actors to collaborate, share insights and expertise and accelerate action to ensure hygiene and health for all.

    Menstrual hygiene and health

    Making needs count

At any given moment, about every fourth woman of menstruating age in the world has her period. For far too many, the lack of education, period-friendly facilities and sanitary products create barriers to community participation. We conduct surveys, provide education and create taboo-breaking campaigns to break the silence, tackle period poverty and contribute to fact-based conversions to foster greater understanding, regardless of gender.

    Incontinence Care

    Speaking about leaking

If incontinence was a country, it would be the third largest in the world, since 400-million people are affected by it. Despite how common it is, one of the most difficult barriers people face is social stigma. Together with our brand TENA, we break the silence around incontinence to help people manage incontinence and live a full, active life.

    Lymphedema and lipedema

    Fighting for recognition

The WHO estimates that lymphedema affects 250-million people worldwide. Awareness of lymphedema and lipedema are low, but awareness of the symptoms is crucial for early diagnosis and improved care. Together with our brand JOBST, we offer online knowledge and expert community programs to support Lymphedema and Lipedema patients to lead an informed and active life.

    Hygiene has no gender

    Challenging stereotypes

We believe that sharing equal perspectives around cleaning, hygiene and parental tasks at home not only improves gender equality, but also leads to a more harmonious family life. Essity's consumer tissue brands all across the world create campaigns to illustrate the positive impact of equal division of household tasks between genders. Together with our baby and FemCare brands, we create apps and communication to bridge knowledge gaps around parenting and important hygiene and health talks between parents and children.
