With regards to our manufacturing, our goal is clear: All solid production waste is to be recovered and nothing should be sent to landfill after 2030. This target inspires and drives a series of measures and local adaption to find suitable ways to recover Essity’s various types of waste.
We drive a change in consumer behavior, from using thick to thin pads. With less material used we save resources and waste, while offering the best product performance. This has enabled us to reach a 17% reduction in carbon footprint since 2008.
A Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a way to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product's life – from sourcing, production and user phase to recycling. Product and service designers use this process to enable improvements while reducing environmental impact.
